I'm not getting any Lifextender notifications in Media Center.
If you aren't receiving any notifications from Lifextender, follow these steps to ensure everything is configured correctly.
- Ensure the Media Center Add-in is installed. See instructions here.
- Ensure that the notification options are enabled. These can be found on the Media Center Add-in tab on the Options form.
If you still aren't getting any notifications, try these steps:
- Quit Lifextender
- Quit all Media Center instances, including those in use by an extender - ensure the process ehshell.exe is not running
- Start Lifextender
- Start Media Center
At this point, if it's still not connecting, close Media Center and uninstall Lifextender. Then reinstall the
latest version.

I have UAC enabled and Lifextender doesn't automatically start up.
If you have UAC enabled, Vista won't allow Lifextender start up when you log in because Lifextender needs to be
run with elevation. (why?) After logging in, you'll see
something similar to this:
To allow Lifextender to start, you'll need to right click on the icon and select Run blocked program >
Lifextender.
This is lame, I know. Even worse, Vista provides no way to remember this decision for future boot ups, so you'll
get to do this every time you reboot.
As a workaround, Jamin Mace has a
short tutorial on getting Lifextender to start when Windows boots with UAC enable and no prompt.

ShowAnalyzer keeps crashing
Currently, v0.9.1 of ShowAnalyzer often crashes when scanning a show. This issue has apparently been patched in v0.9.2, thus 0.9.2 or greater is the recommended
version.

When I submit a bug, what information would help the most?
So something is going wrong and we need to figure it out. Follow these steps and this should help out a bit.
If you still aren't getting any notifications, try these steps:
- Right click on Lifextender tray icon
- Select View Event Log
- In the event viewer, right click on Lifextender node(under Applications and Services Logs)
- Select Clear Log and confirm this by clicking on the Clear button
- Quit Lifextender and restart it via command line using the -debug argument
[i.e. Lifextender.exe -debug]
-
Perform the steps lead up to the issue you are having so it occurs (note - it your issue occurs with
every file during a scan, limit your scan to a single file using Rules)
- After the issue has occurred, perform steps 1 - 3
- Select Save Events As...
- Save the event log to a file on disk
- Email me at bobby@yellowcup.net the .evtx file and I'll take a look as soon as I get time
